Description

A points failure at Lowestoft means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains will be cancelled or revised to not run between Oulton Broad South / Reedham and Lowestoft.

Disruption is expected until approximately 10:30.

Customer advice:

Regrettably, Greater Anglia are unable to run train services into Lowestoft because of failure of the points that allows trains to move from one track to another.

Network Rail engineers are attending as quickly as possible to carry out a detailed inspection.

Service impact:

At present, Greater Anglia are unable to run trains into Lowestoft. As a result, Ipswich to Lowestoft services will terminate and start at Oulton Broad South.

Train services between Norwich and Lowestoft will terminate and start from Reedham.

Alternative travel options

Ticket acceptance:

Greater Anglia have arranged for your tickets to be accepted on the following alternative options at no extra cost:

  • First Buses X1 and X11 between Norwich and Acles / Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft

  • First Buses X2 and X22 between Norwich and Beccles / Lowestoft

Rail replacement:

Limited replacement buses will be running between Lowestoft and Norwich and also between Lowestoft and Oulton Broad South.

Please note that e-scooters, electric and full size bicycles are not permitted on rail replacement vehicles.

Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.
