Between Swindon and Westbury

Description

There is a fault with the signalling system between Chippenham and Westbury, closing all lines running between these stations.

As a result of this, trains are unable to run between Swindon and Westbury, and have been cancelled.

This is expected to be the case for the remainder of the day today.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement transport has been organised to operate between Chippenham and Westbury in both directions.

Passengers are advised to check the station onward travel information poster, and to wait for the replacement road transport at the designated stop for their station.

Please be aware that the replacement road transport may run later than the advertised train times as a result of the additional time taken by road between stations, and the time required for loading and unloading passengers at each stop.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please use our Rail Replacement Services page.

You can find the pick-up and drop-off location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page.

Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
