Description

Lines between Basingstoke and Winchester have reopened following an earlier trespass incident between Basingstoke and Micheldever. As trains return to normal, services may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 65 minutes or revised.

This is expected until the end of the day.

South Western Railway customer advice:

The power was switched off to the tracks to enable response staff to safely remove the trespasser from the railway, now this is done, the power has been switched back on and trains will be able to run to and from Basingstoke from Southampton and Salisbury directions.

Long distance and mainline services:

You will be delayed if you are travelling on services between Basingstoke and Southampton / Salisbury, and some alterations may be made due to the delays caused.

Alternative travel options:

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Reading, and between Reading and Basingstoke.

Because your journey has been heavily disrupted, you can book your own taxi and claim the cost back through the South Western Railway website. This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway between Basingstoke and Weymouth. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:
