Description
Failure of the electricity supply in the New Barnet area means that some lines are blocked.
As a result, trains between London and Stevenage may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
This is expected until 11:00.
Great Northern / Thameslink customer advice:
Trains are being delayed by at least 30 minutes and some services will be cancelled.
This primarily affects services in the direction towards Welwyn Garden City, however trains running towards London will also be delayed.
You may need to change trains to complete your journey and we recommend allowing extra time to travel. Please make sure to check journey planners and information boards at stations for the latest service information.
A reduced number of trains will be stopping at New Barnet and Hadley Wood in the direction towards Welwyn Garden City. Thameslink services continue to call at both stations in this direction.
If you are travelling to these stations, we recommend travelling to Finsbury Park to change for a Thameslink service towards these stations.
If you are travelling from New Barnet or Hadley Wood, please travel using a Thameslink service towards your destination.
If you're waiting on a train which is delayed between stations:
If your train is delayed between stations, please remain where you are and listen to announcements, or speak to staff for further information. We'll get you moving as soon as possible. We're aware of your location, and our teams will be doing everything they can to help you continue your journey.
Please don't leave the train unless you are asked to do so. Other trains may still be moving in the area, and the track is also a very hazardous environment.
Tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services on any reasonable route towards your destination.

Additional information:
Unfortunately, operators been advised of a problem with the electrical supply to the trains in the New Barnet area. This means that some of our services can't move as normal until power is restored.
Staff are working closely with Network Rail and local electricity suppliers to make sure the power is restored. Until this is done, staff expect there will be delays and changes to services in the area.
If you're on a train which is being held in the area, it may take longer for teams to get you to the next station, and onwards to your destination. Please listen out for information from the crew or contact operators on social media if you need further support with your journey.
