Description

There are urgent repairs to the railway taking place at Wimbledon, closing some lines running towards Surbiton.

As a result of this, trains running through Wimbledon may be cancelled, delayed by up 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Engineers have discovered a track defect that needs repairing as a matter of urgency. Due to the nature of the defect, some lines will have to be blocked whilst a fix is put in place. Engineers are on site and working hard to repair the defect as quick as possible. Currently South Western Railways do not have a time of when this will be.

Impact on train services:

Suburban services:

  • London Waterloo to Woking stopping services will run hourly non-stop between London Waterloo and Surbiton. They will not call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction Earlsfield or Wimbledon. The service back towards London Waterloo will also run hourly

  • London Waterloo to Guildford via Cobham services will run hourly non‑stop between London Waterloo and Surbiton. They will not call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield or Wimbledon. The service back towards London Waterloo will also run hourly

  • London Waterloo to Hampton Court services will run hourly non-stop between London Waterloo and Raynes Park and will not call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield or Wimbledon. The service back towards London Waterloo will also run hourly

  • London Waterloo to Chessington South services will run hourly non-stop between London Waterloo and Raynes Park and will not call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield or Wimbledon. The service back towards London Waterloo will also run hourly

  • London Waterloo to Guildford via Epsom will run hourly non-stop between London Waterloo and Raynes Park and will not call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield or Wimbledon. The service back towards London Waterloo will also run hourly

  • London Waterloo to Dorking services will be cancelled in both directions

Windsor and Reading services:

  • London Waterloo to London Waterloo via Strawberry Hill services will run non-stop between London Waterloo and Raynes Park and will not call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield or Wimbledon. They will also run non-stop between Barnes and London Waterloo and will not call at Putney, Wandsworth Town, Clapham Junction, Queenstown Road and Vauxhall in this direction only

  • London Waterloo to Shepperton services will be diverted after Clapham Junction, calling additionally at Twickenham and Strawberry Hill. These services will not call at Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Norbiton, Kingston or Hampton Wick

  • Shepperton to London Waterloo services will be diverted after Fulwell, calling additionally at Strawberry Hill and Twickenham. These services will not call at Teddington, Hampton Wick, Kingston, Norbiton, New Malden, Raynes Park or Wimbledon

  • London Waterloo to London Waterloo via Teddington will run non-stop between London Waterloo and Barnes. These services will not call at Vauxhall, Queenstown Road, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Town and Putney

Long distance and mainline services:

  • Some services running between London Waterloo and Woking, Guildford, Basingstoke and further South will not call at Clapham Junction

  • London Waterloo to Exeter and London Waterloo to Salisbury services will finish and restart their journeys at Basingstoke

How do I get to my destination?

  • If you are travelling from London Waterloo to either Earlsfield or Wimbledon, please take a train to Raynes Park or Surbiton and travel back. Tickets will be accepted for these journeys

  • If you are travelling from London Waterloo to stations between Basingstoke and Exeter St Davids please take a train to Basingstoke and change for onward connections

  • If you are travelling from Clapham Junction to stations towards, Woking, Guildford, Basingstoke and further South, please take a train towards London Waterloo and change there for services. Tickets will be accepted for these journeys

  • If you are travelling from Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield and Wimbledon towards Epsom, Chessington South, Hampton Court, Dorking, Woking and Guildford, please take a train to London Waterloo and change there for services. Tickets will be accepted for these journeys

  • London Buses between London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Kingston & Surbiton

  • Southern services between London Victoria - Clapham Junction – Epsom – Dorking in both directions

  • Thameslink services between Wimbledon and Elephant & Castle in both directions to change for London Underground services towards London Waterloo
