Description

A fire next to the track in the New Milton area means that trains are having to run at reduced speed on all lines. As a result of this, trains running between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst may be delayed, revised or cancelled.

Major disruption is expected to continue until 18:00.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

  • South Western Railway services between Bournemouth and Basingstoke / London Waterloo

  • Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and Birmingham New Street

  • London Underground via any reasonable route

  • Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Reading

  • London Northwestern Railway services between London Euston and Birmingham New Street

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are our unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

Long distance and mainline services

  • Weymouth / Poole / Bournemouth to London Waterloo services will end and restart its journey at Bournemouth where possible

  • London Waterloo to Bournemouth / Poole / Weymouth services will end and restart its journey at Southampton Central where possible

  • Winchester to Bournemouth stopping services will be cancelled in both directions until further notice

    • New Forest Breezer 86 Southampton - Millbrook - Totton - Ashurst - Brockenhurst - Lymington Tow

    • New Forest Breezer 81 and 82 between Lymington Town - New Milton - Christchurch - Bournemouth

    • 1A, 1B and 1C between Bournemouth - Pokesdown – Christchurch

    • M1 and M2 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone - Poole

    • 16 and 17 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone – Poole

    • 8 and 9 between Poole and Hamworth

    • 40 between Poole and Wareham

    • 30 between Wareham - Wool - Dorchester – Weymouth

  • First Bus routes:

    • 10 between Weymouth - Upwey - Dorchester

    • X51 between Weymouth and Dorchester

This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway between Bournemouth and Southampton Central. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

  • The time and date of your journey

  • The stations you travelled to and from

  • A detailed description of the series of events that took place

  • Copies of your train ticket/s and taxi receipt

South Western Railway are arranging for rail replacement buses to run between Bournemouth and Southampton Central. More information will be provided once these are confirmed.
