Description

A broken down train between Par and Newquay means that fewer trains are able to run.

As a result, some trains have been cancelled and a 2 hourly service will operate between these stations instead.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

One of the trains scheduled for use on the Par to Newquay line has broken down, and there are no spares available. As a result, a 2 hourly service will operate between these stations.

Great Western Railway have arranged taxis to operate between Par and Newquay in replacement of cancelled train services only. Please see a member of staff, or use the station help point, for further details.

To further assist you with your journey, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on Go Cornwall bus routes:

  • 21/21A: St Austell, St Columb Road (Co-op), Quintrell Downs (Quintrell Close), Newquay (Bus Station)

  • 26/26A: St Austell (Station), Bugle (The Square), Roche ( Travelodge), Bodmin (Town Centre)

  • 31: St Austell (Station), Luxulyan (Kings Arms)

  • 85: Newquay (Bus Station), Truro (Bus Station)

  • 87: Truro (Bus Station), Truro (Station), Newquay (Station)

  • 91: Truro (Bus Station), St Columb Road (Co-op), Quintrell Downs (North Way), Newquay (Station)

  • 93: Truro (Bus Station), Quintrell Downs (The Oaks), Newquay (Station)

During this disruption if you wish to use local buses as an alternative means of transport and the local bus is not accepting Great Western Railway tickets please purchase a ticket on the bus, keep it and send it, together with your train ticket, to Great Western Railway to claim for a refund.

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
