Between Par and Newquay

Description

There are more trains than usual requiring repair at the same time between Par and Newquay. This means that a reduced service will run on this route.

This is expected until 14:30.

Customer advice:

The train that operates the Par to Newquay service has developed a fault that needs mechanical attention. Great Western Railway do have another train that is operating the service, which means they can only operate half of the service.

If you are wanting to travel to Newquay, please check your journey and if there is not a service, we recommend that you continue to St Austell and then take a local bus.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost, in both directions on the following local bus routes:

  • Go Cornwall Bus

    • route 21/21A: St Austell (Station), St Columb Road (Co-op), Quintrell Downs (Quintrell Close), Newquay (Bus Station)

    • route 26/26A: St Austell (Station), Bugle (The Square), Roche (opposite Travelodge), Bodmin (Town Centre)

    • route 31: St Austell (Station), Luxulyan (Kings Arms)

    • route 85: Newquay (Bus Station), Truro (Bus Station)

    • route 87: Truro (Bus Station), Truro (Station), Newquay (Station)

    • route 91: Truro (Bus Station), St Columb Road (Co-op), Quintrell Downs (North Way), Newquay (Station)

    • route 93: Truro (Bus Station), Quintrell Downs (The Oaks), Newquay (Station)

Great Western Railway are working with the maintenance team to resolve the fault on the train to reintroduce two trains to operate the service.

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
