Description
Urgent repairs to the track between Oxted and Uckfield means all lines are closed. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until 20:00.
Customer advice:
If you are travelling between Oxted and Uckfield, please allow at least an extra 60 minutes to complete your journey, as train services are suspended and replaced by buses.
Train services are currently unable to run between Oxted and Uckfield in either direction.

Replacement buses are in operation:
Southern have been able to resource some replacement buses, so you may be able to use these to get to your destination.
These buses will operate between Oxted and Uckfield calling at all intermediate stations in both directions taking around 90 minutes but this may increase due to traffic.
Where possible, schedules for these buses will be shown on journey planners, so you can see the next services from your station. If not, they'll be under the control of local station teams.
Bus suppliers will be Ramel Hamilton, Bus Hire Group, Big Lemon and Gatwick Hoppa.

Can you tell me more about the incident?
A track defect has been reported between Edenbridge Town and Cowden on the line towards Uckfield.
For safety reasons, trains cannot run over the affected section of track until specialist engineers have completed an on-site inspection and confirmed the line is safe for passenger services.
Network Rail response teams and track maintenance specialists are currently heading to the site to inspect the rails and track bed. Once their assessment is complete, they will determine whether immediate repair work is required before the line can reopen.
Southern will provide a further update as soon as reports are received from the engineering team on site.
