Description

A person has been hit by a train between Stevenage and Peterborough. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed. Trains may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 14:00.

  • Greater Anglia between London Liverpool Street and Peterborough

  • LNER services between London Kings Cross and Leeds / Newcastle

  • London Underground between London Terminals

  • Northern services between Doncaster / Leeds / York, and also between Darlington and Eaglescliffe

  • TransPennine Express services between Leeds and York, and also between York and Thirsk

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

  • Grand Central between London Kings Cross and York

  • Great Northern and Thameslink between London Kings Cross, Stevenage / Peterborough

  • Hull Trains between London Kings Cross and Doncaster

  • Lumo between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh

  • Northern via any reasonable route

  • ScotRail between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh, and also between Edinburgh and Aberdeen / Inverness

  • Thameslink between London St Pancras International and Bedford

  • TransPennine Express between Manchester, Leeds and York / Newcastle, and between Newcastle and Edinburgh

If you are travelling between Hitchin and Peterborough you will need to delay your journey until later today.

If you do travel now you will need to travel on an alternative route which will add up to 60 minutes to your journey.

At present the following stations will not be served by Thameslink services:

  • Arlesey

  • Biggleswade

  • Sandy

  • St Neots

  • Huntingdon

  • Peterborough

There will also be a reduced service between Horsham and London and if you are travelling on this route please use alternative Southern services to complete your journey.

If you are travelling between London and Peterborough you can travel via Ely but doing so will extend your journey time by at least an hour.

  • CrossCountry and East Midlands Railway services between Peterborough and Ely (where you can connect with Great Northern services to London)

  • Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Hitchin / Cambridge / Ely

  • LNER services (when lines have reopened) between London Kings Cross and Peterborough

  • Southern between Horsham and London Victoria

  • Thameslink on any alternative route between Gatwick Airport and Peterborough (no alternative services between Hitchin and Peterborough at present)
