Between Reading and Didcot Parkway

Description

Lines have now reopened following a fire next to the track at Pangbourne, however, trains are running at a reduced speed. Great Western Railway services running between Reading and Didcot Parkway may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 19:00

Customer advice:

All local stopping services will now terminate and restart at Reading. Great Western Railway are working with Network Rail to be able to return to running their normal timetable as soon as possible.

The line has reopened and train service will begin to recover starting 17:40 at Didcot Parkway.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following Reading buses in both directions:

  • sky blue 16: Reading (Station Road), Reading West (Oxford Road), Tilehurst (Kentwood Circle)

  • azure 43: Reading (Friar Street), Reading West (Oxford Road), Tilehurst (Station), Pangbourne (George Hotel)

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.

If you require further help or information, please speak with staff at the station or on the train, or use help points where available.

You may wish to postpone your journey until service between these stations returns to normal.
