Description

Damage to the overhead wires in the Hitchin area means some lines are blocked. Trains running between Stevenage and Peterborough / Cambridge may be delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

LNER are advising passengers do not travel between London Kings Cross and Peterborough.

Hull Trains customer advice:

Rail replacement transport has been requested to run between London Kings Cross and Peterborough. We will provide further information once more is known.

Tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on the following routes:

  • East Midlands Railway services between London St Pancras International and Sheffield

  • TransPennine Express services between Sheffield and Doncaster

LNER customer advice:

Tickets for travel on Monday 1 June will be valid for use on Tuesday 2 June.

If you are unable to defer your journey, arrangements are in place to assist you to complete your journey.

You can use your ticket on the following train companies at no extra cost:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston, Manchester and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

  • CrossCountry between Sheffield, Doncaster / Leeds, York and Newcastle / Edinburgh

  • Greater Anglia between London Liverpool Street, Stevenage and Peterborough

  • Great Northern and Thameslink between London Kings Cross, Stevenage and Peterborough

  • Lumo between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh

  • Northern between Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, Skipton, York

  • TransPennine Express between Manchester, Leeds and York / Newcastle

Replacement buses have been requested. We will provide further information once more is known.

If you are travelling now, your journey will be delayed and you will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination. No trains are able to run between Cambridge / Peterborough and Hitchin / Stevenage, in either direction until further notice.
