Can you tell me more about the incident?
When a track defect is identified, the line will be examined by the proceeding trains to make sure that trains are still able to run. If for any reason the rail is defective, the line will be closed and techs will attend to make repairs as soon as possible.
In this instance, the fast line towards Peterborough is closed because of a defect. And this means trains from other operators will use the slow lines Thameslink and Great Northern usually use.
Check before you travel:
You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
Compensation:
You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
