Description

A number of incidents between Selhurst and Streatham Common means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until 20:30.

Southern strongly advise delaying your journey until later today.

The line from Selhurst towards London Victoria is blocked and trains on the line from London Victoria towards Selhurst need to run at a reduced speeds

Southern are working on gathering more information on how the service will be affected and will provide more details shortly.

Trains that normally run from East Croydon towards London Bridge are being diverted to run via Norwood Junction and Tulse Hill. A reduced number of services continue to run from Selhurst towards London Victoria.

If you do choose to travel now, we recommend leaving at least 45 minutes more time to complete your journey.

Southern have had a report of a possible issue with the track in this area. Network Rail's engineers are attending as quickly as possible to carry out a detailed inspection.

There are various different types of defects, and the first advice usually comes from drivers or other staff travelling through the area. Response staff will check the location which has been specified and find out whether the track is still supported correctly, whether the rails themselves are in the usual condition, and if there are any problems with the fixings and metalwork which attach the rails to the sleepers.

Until this is done, trains have been stopped from running in the affected direction. This is a necessary safety precaution and we'd like to thank you for your patience .
