Can you tell me more about the incident?

Earlier today, a fault with a train's onboard communications system - following an activation of the passenger communications alarm - brought trains to a standstill between Brighton and Worthing.

A driver on board a train activated the emergency alarm communication system following an egress on board their train, which then developed a fault. This system is an important safety feature, and any fault must be investigated before the train can continue with its journey.

After working with control room teams and Network Rail engineers, the driver has resolved the fault, and the train can now continue on its journey.
