Can you tell me more about the incident?

There will be a speed restriction for trains travelling through the Elstree & Borehamwood area, so your journey will take longer than usual. It may not be possible to tell you the exact delay until your train has passed the bridge, but Thameslink will do their best to keep you informed.

Network Rail will be sending engineers as quickly as possible to check the bridge for any damage, and if it's safe to do so, trains will be allowed to run at their usual speeds.

Thameslink take railway safety very seriously and need to make sure it's safe for services to run as planned.

If you see a vehicle hitting a bridge, or you think a bridge has been damaged, please report it using the phone number on the identification plate fixed to the bridge. If no plate is provided, please report it to the police by calling 999.
