Description

Lines have now reopened following the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway at Stockport. Trains in the Stockport area may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted as services return to normal.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services and routes:

  • Avanti West Coast services between Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston in both directions

  • Two CrossCountry services operating before or after your cancelled service

  • London Northwestern Railway services between Crewe and Birmingham New Street in both directions

  • London Underground services via any reasonable route

  • Northern between Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester Piccadilly

  • South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Bournemouth in both directions

As well as Stockport, all services to / from Manchester Piccadilly will be subject to delays, short notice alterations and cancellations due to train crew and trains being out of position.
