Description
Urgent repairs to the track between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly means that some lines towards Manchester Piccadilly are blocked.
As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
CrossCountry are not affected by this disruption.

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

There are argent repairs to the track required near Stockport. This is between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street and is affecting our services on our Norwich / Nottingham / Liverpool Lime Street route.
How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street will be diverted where possible and will not stop at Stockport, for the trains that cannot divert, there will be significant delays and some services may be altered.
Trains running through the area between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield, can run at line speed, however they may have some alterations.
How do I get where I need to be?
Trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations.
You may use your tickets to travel with the following services at no extra cost:
TransPennine Express services between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street, in both directions

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

How does this affect my journey?
The following routes may be delayed, revised, or cancelled:
From Cleethorpes towards Liverpool Lime Street in that direction only
Services may be diverted from Sheffield towards Manchester Piccadilly via an alternative route.
Trains diverting via this alternative route will be unable to serve Stockport.
Trains that are unable to divert will still be able to run and will call at Stockport, however delays may occur.

If the train is diverted and does not call at Stockport you can use your tickets at no extra cost on the following services:
TransPennine Express, Northern or East Midlands Railway services between Manchester and Stockport and Sheffield in both directions
