Description

The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice which cover the Chiltern Railways network. These will be in place until the end of the day.

Storm Goretti brought ice, strong winds and snow to parts of England and Wales. The amber weather warning has now ended, however, the severe weather will continue throughout today.

You are strongly advised to check your journey in full on either of the affected days, and check our Status and Disruptions page if your journey involves travel with other train operators.

Advice for Chiltern Railways customers:

Customers travelling with Chiltern Railways are advised that due to Storm Goretti, a significantly reduced service (50 percent of the normal timetable) will be in place today.

One Chiltern Railways service per hour will operate in each direction between:

  • Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone

  • London Marylebone and Oxford

  • London Marylebone and High Wycombe

  • London Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham

  • Aylesbury and Princes Risborough

There will be no Chiltern Railways service north of Birmingham Moor Street or on the line to Stratford-upon-Avon. Hatton, Lapworth, Kings Sutton, Sudbury Hill Harrow, Sudbury & Harrow Road and South Ruislip will also not be served.

Rail replacement buses will not be in operation due to road conditions being affected by the weather.

Chiltern Railways customers with tickets for travel on the evening of Thursday 8 January or Friday 9 January can use their tickets on Saturday 10 January instead.

Where customers no longer wish to travel, a refund can be requested from the original point of purchase.
