Description
The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for snow, ice and strong winds which cover the Great Western Railway network. These will be in place until the end of the day.
Storm Goretti brought ice, strong winds and snow to parts of England and Wales. The red and amber weather warnings have now ended, however, the severe weather will continue throughout today.
You are strongly advised to check your journey in full on either of the affected days, and check our Status and Disruptions page if your journey involves travel with other train operators.
Storm Goretti hit the UK yesterday, bringing strong winds and heavy rain / snow. This brought disruption to the Great Western Railway network.
The following routes are suspended:
At present, the following routes below are suspended. This is expected to continue until the end of the day.
There are no services running between between Plymouth and Penzance
There are no services running between Par and Newquay
There are no services running between Truro and Falmouth
You cannot travel on the routes listed above. There are no trains or replacement road transport running.
Efforts are being made to reopen the Cornish Main Line between Plymouth and Liskeard. Please note that should this happen, there will be no onward transport from Liskeard, and this line should only be used for local journeys between Plymouth and Liskeard.
Service alterations:
No trains Worcester Shrub Hill and Hereford
Trains between London Paddington and Hereford will run between London Paddington and Worcester Shrub Hill only until approximately 18:00, but disruption is likely until the end of the day.
You cannot travel on this part of the network until at least 18:00. No trains or rail replacement transport will run.

Please note that no trains are currently running between Liskeard and Looe due to flooding.
Your ticket dated Thursday 8 and Friday 9 January will be valid on Great Western Railway services on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 January.
