Description

Storm Amy is expected to bring very strong winds and heavy rain to many parts of Scotland, England and Wales until the end of the day.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office.

Network Rail’s specialist weather team are closely monitoring the storm’s path and working with operators to confirm which routes are most likely to be impacted.

Customer advice:

Services on the following routes are subject to delays and short notice cancellations in both directions:

Lines have reopened following a tree blocking the railway between Farnborough Main and Fleet. Train services running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on the following services:

  • Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids, and between Reading and Basingstoke, in both directions

  • CrossCountry services between Reading and Bournemouth in both directions

  • London Underground services to Paddington via any reasonable route

    • 4 between Exeter stations and Cranbrook

    • 9 between Honiton and Exeter Central (long route via Sidmouth)

    • 44 and 44A between Axminster - Honiton - Cranbrook - Exeter Central

    • X30 between Honiton and Exeter Central

  • Newbury & District routes 731 and 730 between Basingstoke - Frimley - Camberley - Bagshot - Heathrow T5 (for London Underground Piccadilly line or Elizabeth line connections into London)

Because your journey has been heavily disrupted, you can book your own taxi and claim the cost back through the South Western Railway website. This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway between Woking - Guioldford - Basingstoke - Southampton - Bournemouth - Salisbury. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

  • A detailed description of the series of events that took place

  • Copies of your train ticket/s and taxi receipt

Residual disruption is expected until 20:00.

Due to a precarious tree at Datchet all lines between Staines towards Windsor & Eton Riverside are blocked. Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised to start / terminate at Ascot or Staines.

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on the following services:

  • London Underground services between London Waterloo and London Paddington

  • Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Windsor & Eton Central via Slough in both directions

  • Thames Valley Buses routes:

    • 1 between Ascot - Sunningdale - Windsor

    • 703 between Bracknell - Ascot - Windsor

Lines have reopened following a tree blocking the railway at Cobham & Stoke D'abernon. Trains between Effingham Junction and Surbiton may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.
