This is expected until the end of the day.

Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink customer advice:

If you are travelling through the Three Bridges area today, you should still be able to use your normal route. However, please plan ahead and allow at least an extra 15 minutes to complete your journey.

To help reduce delays and ease congestion in the area, we are making a number of temporary changes to our train services.

Gatwick Express services will run between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport only. These trains will not run to or from Brighton. Please use alternative Thameslink services between Gatwick Airport and Brighton.

Additionally, some trains scheduled to stop at Three Bridges may run non-stop through the station to keep other services moving. If you are travelling to or from Three Bridges, please listen closely to announcements and check station screens before boarding to ensure your train is stopping.

Live journey planners and departure boards have been updated with these changes, so please check your route before you set off today.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Operators have been made aware of a buckled rail in the Three Bridges Area. This is resulting in some trains being diverted which will increase passenger journey times.

Network Rail engineers are assessing the incident and it is hoped to get the service back running as normal as soon as possible.
