Description

Damage to the overhead electric wires in the Watford Junction area means that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Additionally, a lineside fire is also causing disruption to services in the area.

Major disruption is expected until 21:00.

Your ticket can be used on the following, at no extra cost, in both directions:

  • CrossCountry - Reading to Manchester Piccadilly, Cheltenham Spa to Edinburgh

  • Chiltern Railways - London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street

  • East Midlands Railway - London St Pancras International to Sheffield

  • Great Western Railway - London Paddington to Reading / Cheltenham Spa

  • LNER - London Kings Cross to Edinburgh

  • London Northwestern Railway - London Euston and Crewe

  • Northern - Carlisle to Newcastle

  • ScotRail - Glasgow - Edinburgh

  • TransPennine Express - Sheffield to Stockport, Manchester to Leeds, Preston to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train's delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Crewe

  • Chiltern Railways between London Marylebone and Birmingham Moor Street

  • East Midlands Railway between London St Pancras International and Leicester

  • Thameslink between London St Pancras International and Bedford

Southern customer advice:

You will need to use an alternative route to travel and allow at least 30 minutes more time to complete your journey.

The following stations are currently not being served by Southern services:

  • Wembley Central

  • Harrow & Wealdstone

  • Watford Junction

If you are travelling to or from these stations, please use London Overground services to connect between Shepherds Bush and Willesden Junction. You can then use London Overground services towards your destination.

You can also use the London Underground Victoria line to connect between London Victoria and London Euston station, where London Northwestern Railway and London Overground services continue to run from / to the stations listed above.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • Alternative Southern services between East Croydon and Clapham Junction

  • London Northwestern Railway services between:

    • London Euston and Tring - for Wembley Central, Harrow and Wealdstone, Watford Junction

    • Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey - for connections with St Albans and services towards St Pancras

  • London Buses between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction

  • London Overground services between:

    • London Euston and Watford Junction - for Wembley Central, Harrow and Wealdstone

    • Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction - for Imperial Wharf, West Brompton, Kensington Olympia, Shepherd's Bush

  • London Underground services via any reasonable route, including routes via:

    • London Euston

    • Central line for Shepherds Bush

    • Bakerloo line for Wembley Central and Harrow & Wealdstone

    • Metropolitan line for Wembley Park and Harrow on the Hill

    • District line for West Brompton and Kensington Olympia

    • Jubilee line for Stanmore and a bus connection to Watford Junction on London Bus 142
