Description

A fire next to the track in the Waltham Cross area means all lines are blocked. With trains unable to run on the line via Waltham Cross, services between Broxbourne and Stratford / London Liverpool Street will be cancelled, revised or diverted to run via Seven Sisters.

Services that divert via Seven Sisters will have longer journey times and amended calling patterns.

Major disruption is expected until 18:00.

Customer advice:

We have received reports of multiple fires close to the railway lines and as a result, and a safety precaution, the London Fire Brigade have instructed that all train movements in the area be stopped. In reaction trains to and from London Liverpool Street will be diverted via Seven Sisters until further notice.

Network Rail and the emergency response team are on site working as quickly as possible to put out the fires and restore the train service to normal.

Train services may be delayed altered or cancelled at short notice.

• Services to / from London Liverpool Street will be diverted via Seven Sisters (this includes all Stansted Express services)

• Hertford East - Stratford services will be diverted to / start from London Liverpool Street

• Meridian Water - Stratford services will be cancelled

Alternative travel options:

Passengers travelling between Hertford East and Stratford may travel via London Liverpool Street on a Greater Anglia services to / from Stratford or on London Underground Central line service.

• Great Northern between London and Cambridge (Moorgate is a short walk from London Liverpool Street via the Elizabeth Line platforms)

• London Buses on all reasonable routes

• London Underground on all reasonable routes

• London Overground on all reasonable routes (stations on the Seven Sisters route are only a short distance from those on the Tottenham Hale route)

• Thameslink between London St Pancras International and Cambridge

Towards Stansted Airport (approximate journey time up to 2 hours 30 minutes)

1. From Liverpool Street, travel on London Underground (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines) to Kings Cross St Pancras using London Underground

2. Change for Great Northern services from London Kings Cross to Cambridge

3. Change at Cambridge for the first available train to Stansted Airport

Towards London Liverpool Street (approximate journey time up to 2 hours 30 minutes)

1. From Stansted Airport, travel on the first available train to Cambridge

2. Change at Cambridge for Great Northern trains to London Kings Cross

3. Travel on travel on London Underground (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines) from Kings Cross St Pancras to Liverpool Street
