Between London Kings Cross and Kings Lynn
Description
A fault with the signalling system in the Watlington area is causing disruption to journeys through this station. Trains running between Ely and Kings Lynn may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 14:00.
Customer advice:
A signalling problem near Watlington is causing disruption to services between Downham Market and Kings Lynn.
Journeys in this area are being delayed by around 45-60 minutes, and it is expected that there will also be some service changes and cancellations at short notice.
Please leave extra time and check your train using the journey planning tools, or consider travelling later, once it is confirmed that the fault has been fixed.
Alternative public transport routes on this part of the network are extremely limited, and are unlikely to be an option for most journeys.
If Great Northern need to arrange buses in place of train cancellations, these will also be shown on journey planning tools. Bus journeys will also take much longer than usual.
Alternative journey options:
The following bus services exist in this area, but unfortunately your rail ticket will not be accepted:
Lynx Route 37 between Kings Lynn and Downham Market
First " excel" buses between Kings Lynn and Peterborough
If you use a First " excel" bus, you may then connect with Thameslink services between London St Pancras International (a short distance from London Kings Cross) and Peterborough at no extra cost.
Great Northern services will also still be running between London Kings Cross and Cambridge / Ely, although due to this incident, these services will not be running as often as usual.
Your ticket will be accepted at no extra cost on alternative Greater Anglia and CrossCountry services between Cambridge and Ely, and on Thameslink services between London St Pancras International and Cambridge.
