Description

A problem with the station lighting at Watton-at-Stone means a reduced service will be able to call at the station.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Services towards Stevenage are unable to stop at Watton-at-Stone.

Services towards Hertford North / Moorgate will be able to stop as normal.

If you are travelling to Watton-at-Stone on a Stevenage-bound train, you should stay on board until Stevenage, where the train will then terminate and travel back to Watton-at-Stone from there. For most journeys the next service will be the same train, so there you can stay on board.

If you are at Watton-at-Stone and require a service to Stevenage, you should instead take the next service to Hertford North and change there for a service back towards Stevenage.

Journeys will take around 20 minutes longer than normal as a result so please allow extra time to account for this.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Services are currently unable to stop on platform 2 at Watton-at-Stone, due the lights not working. Contractors have been requested to attend to rectify this but in the meantime services will be unable to stop in the Stevenage direction as a result.
