Description

A safety inspection of the track is taking place between Hertford North and Stevenage, closing all lines. Trains running between these stations will be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:30.

Customer advice:

No trains can run between Hertford North and Stevenage until further notice. You will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination.

You should allow at least an additional 60 minutes to complete your journey today.

Please talk to station staff, look at the information boards or check your journey planner for the most recent information.

How are we changing the service?

Watton-at-Stone will have a very limited service at this time. Trains that normally run between Moorgate / London Kings Cross to Stevenage will now run between Moorgate / London Kings Cross and terminate and restart at Hertford North.

A very limited service will run between Hertford North and Stevenage. Services that run between Stevenage / London Kings Cross to Moorgate via Hertford North and will now run via Welwyn Garden City only.

If you are travelling to / from Hertford North / Watton-at-Stone:

If you are travelling in the direction towards Stevenage from these stations, there will be a bus replacement service in place until further notice. There will also be a very limited Great Northern service between Hertford North and Stevenage.

For services towards London, travel towards Stevenage and change for alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services towards London Kings Cross via Welwyn Garden City.

Ticket acceptance:

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on the following;

  • Alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Stevenage via Welwyn Garden City

Replacement buses are en route:

Great Northern been able to resource some replacement buses, so you may be able to use these to get to your destination.

These buses are expected to arrive at 16:15.

They are then due to operate on the following routes:

  • Stevenage

  • Watton-at-Stone

  • Hertford North

Bus suppliers will be Britannia Coaches.
