Description

A fire next to the track earlier today at West Norwood means fewer trains are able to run. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:30.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling to / from West Norwood you may need to use an alternative service and should allow additional time of at least 15 minutes to complete your journey today. This is due to a fire next to the railway earlier today.

How the service has been affected:

There is currently a reduced service running on the following routes:

• Southern services between London Victoria to West Croydon via Crystal Palace. You will need to use alternative Southern services between London Victoria and West Croydon

• Southern services between London Bridge and London Victoria. If you are travelling on this route, you will need to change at East Croydon for alternative services to help you reach your final destination

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on the following;

• Alternative Southern services on any routes between London Bridge, London Victoria and East Croydon

• London Overground between West Croydon, Crystal Palace and Surrey Quays

• London Underground between London Bridge and Balham / London Bridge and Surrey Quays

• London buses between London Terminals and West Croydon

Can you tell me more about the incident?

The fire brigade were dealing with an incident at West Norwood earlier today. As a result, the station will be open but trains will be running at reduced speeds through the area. Due to the speed restriction for trains, there may be some delays.

Southern are currently working with Network Rail staff to resolve this incident as quickly as possible and return the service back to schedule.
