Description

There is a fault on a train at Whitwell. This means trains are unable to run between Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop. As a result, trains will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

We expected this to continue until approximately 15:00.

What has happened?

Network Rail are on site alongside the British Transport Police and the train which had the fault has been able to pull into Whitwell station.

How does this affect my train?

Trains running through the area in both directions may be delayed by up to 60 minutes and subject to short notice alterations / cancellations.

At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect the advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 15:00.

How do I get where I need to be?

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 60 minutes. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

East Midlands Railway have arranged for a rail replacement bus to help keep you on the move from Worksop, which will depart at 14:10 and will be calling at Whitwell, Creswell, Shirebrook, and Mansfield Woodhouse.

You may also use your ticket at no extra cost on Northern between Worksop and Lincoln / Worksop / Sheffield to keep you on the move.

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on NET trams as required.
