Description

The emergency services have completed their work between Wimbledon and Effingham Junction / Hampton Court / Woking. This has allowed all lines between these stations to reopen. Trains running between these stations may continue to be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 100 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Power to the tracks has been restored and all lines have now reopened.

Due to the level of disruption to your journey, passengers are now able to source their own taxis between London Waterloo - Woking - Guildford - Salisbury and claim them back through the South Western Railway website. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

  • Your full contact details

  • The time and date of your journey

  • The stations you travelled to and from

  • A detailed description of the series of events that took place

  • Copies of your train ticket/s and taxi receipt

Additionally, if you choose not to travel today due to the disruption being experienced, South Western Railway have arranged for tickets dated today, Friday 3 October, to be valid for use tomorrow Saturday 4 October at no additional cost to yourself.

    • 400 between Staines, Ashford (Surrey), Shepperton and Walton-on-Thames

    • 408 between Oxshott, Cobham & Stoke D' Abernon, Epom, Ashtead and Leatherhead

    • 436 between Weybridge, Byfleet & New Haw, West Byfleet and Woking

    • 437 between Byfleet & New Haw, West Byfleet and Woking

    • 456 between Staines, Chertsey, Addlestone, West Byfleet and Woking
