Description

The emergency services are dealing with an incident near the railway in the Wimbledon area. To allow them to safely carry out their work, all lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

South Western Railway customer advice:

Response teams are on their way to site. In order to allow emergency services access to the railway all power to the track will need to be switched off in the affected area.

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on the following services:

  • London Underground:

    • District line services from London Waterloo or Wimbledon towards Westminster change at Embankment via Bakerloo, Jubilee and Northern lines for London Waterloo or Wimbledon

    • Victoria line services between Victoria and Vauxhall Station in both directions until further notice

  • Southern services between:

    • London Victoria - Clapham Junction – Epsom – Dorking in both directions

    • Dorking / Leatherhead / Epsom /Reigate / Redhill / Clapham Junction and London Victoria

    • Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton Central in both directions

  • Great Western Railway services between:

    • Dorking Deepdene to Gatwick Airport or towards Guildford for onward connections for London

    • Dorking (Deepdene) - Guildford – Reading in both directions

    • Reading and London Paddington for connections to London

    • Westbury and Weymouth

  • Thameslink services between:

    • Wimbledon and Blackfriars/Central London for the connections with London Underground in both directions

    • Wimbledon to Elephant & Castle in both directions until further notice & change for London Underground services towards London Waterloo

  • CrossCountry services between Reading and Bournemouth in both directions

    • Surbiton - Berrylands - Raynes Park - Chessington South - Wimbledon - Clapham Junction

    • 28 between Woking, Brookwood, Worplesdon and Guildford

    • 400 between Walton on Thames - Shepperton - Ashford – Staines

Thameslink customer advice:

No trains will run between Streatham and Sutton, via Wimbledon, until further notice. Please allow an extra 60 minutes to travel as you will have to use alternative transport.

Your ticket will be accepted on the following, at no extra cost:

  • Alternative Thameslink services between London Blackfriars and East Croydon

  • London Trams between Wimbledon and Croydon

  • London Buses between London Blackfriars and Wimbledon / Sutton

  • London Underground via any reasonable route

  • Southern services between London Victoria and Sutton

Emergency services are dealing with an incident, stopping Thameslink from running trains on the line between Streatham and Sutton, via Wimbledon. All of the St Albans City to Sutton services will route via Mitcham Junction to Sutton, where they will terminate and start back from.
