Description
There is a fault with the signalling system in the Witham area. Additionally, there was a separate signalling fault between Shenfield and Rochford.
Some lines between Shenfield and Chelmsford are blocked. Trains between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised
All lines have reopened between Shenfield and Southminster / Southend Victoria. Whilst service recovers, trains between these stations are returning to normal but may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Advice for customers travelling between Shenfield and Chelmsford / Braintree / Colchester and beyond:
Trains running from Shenfield, towards Colchester are having to run at a reduced speed as they approach Witham. Trains are unable to run directly from London Liverpool Street to Braintree. Network Rail engineers will attend and look to fix the fault as quickly as possible.
Passengers travelling between London Liverpool Street and Braintree will have to change trains at Witham. All other affected routes will be delayed.

Limited accessible replacement buses are running between Shenfield and Southend Victoria and also between Wickford and Southminster. Please note that e-scooters, electric and full size bicycles are not permitted on rail replacement vehicles.
