Can you tell me more about the incident?
A fault with an engineering train is causing delays in this area.
When a fault occurs, crews first try to fix it within about 10 minutes. If that’s not possible, staff may take the train out of service and move it to a depot, which takes extra time as passengers need to leave safely.
If the train can’t be moved, specialist engineers ("fitters") will attend the site. They’re available 24/7 and will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Until the train is moved, Southern will try to reroute other services where possible, working with Network Rail to keep disruption to a minimum.
Check before you travel:

Compensation:
You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
