Engineering work is taking place overnight at various locations on the Great Western Railway network, closing various lines.


  • 05:02 Reading to London Paddington will NOT call Taplow and Burnham. Taplow and Burnham customers travel by later trains.

Monday and Tuesday

  • 23:27 Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads will operate approximately 5 minutes later than normal from Patchway and beyond.

Monday to Thursday

  • 23:14 London Paddington to Reading will depart 23:21.
  • 23:27 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway will depart 23:28
  • 23:51 London Paddington to Reading will NOT call at West Ealing and Hanwell.
  • 22:01 Reading to London Paddington will depart 22:05.
  • 23:14 Reading to London Paddington will depart 23:16.
  • 23.20 Bristol Temple Meads to Frome will terminate Westbury. Road transport will run from Westbury to Frome.
  • 23:30 London Paddington to Cardiff Central will be diverted between Bristol Temple Meads and Patchway. The train will set down only at Newport and Cardiff Central later than normal.
  • 21:15 and 22:45 London Paddington to Swansea will terminate at Neath. Road transport will run from Neath to Swansea.

Tuesday to Friday

  • 00:19 Henley-on-Thames to Reading will terminate at Twyford for a rail connection from Twyford to Reading. 
  • 03:51 Oxford to Reading will use alternative platforms at Tilehurst, Goring & Streatley and Cholsey and will NOT call at PANGBOURNE. Customers for Pangbourne should travel to Tilehurst then by bus to Pangbourne and customers from Pangbourne travel by bus to Tilehurst to connect into the train. Road journey time is 10 minutes.
  • 03:54 Swansea to London Paddington will start from Neath 04:28. Road transport will run from Swansea to Neath to connect into the train.
  • 06:25 Westbury to Frome will NOT run. Customers should travel on later services.
  • 06:40 Frome to Cardiff Central will start from Westbury 06:55. EARLIER road transport will run at 06:25 from Frome to Westbury to connect into the train.

Wednesday and Thursday

  • 22:45 London Paddington to Swansea (terminating Neath) and 23:30 London Paddington to Cardiff Central will incur 5 minutes additional journey time between Patchway and Severn Tunnel Junction.
