Description

Engineering work is taking place between Eastleigh / Fareham and Southampton Central, closing all lines all weekend. Additionally on Sunday, the line closure will extend to between Eastleigh / Fareham and Bournemouth.

CrossCountry

On Saturday, trains will divert and will not call at Winchester or Southampton Airport Parkway. Customers may use alternative trains operated by South Western Railway between Winchester and Eastleigh and replacement buses, supplied by South Western Railway, between Eastleigh and Southampton Central.

On Sunday, trains will not run between Southampton Airport Parkway and Bournemouth. Buses will run between Southampton Airport Parkway and Southampton Central / Bournemouth.

Great Western Railway

On Saturday and Sunday, trains will divert via Eastleigh, not calling at Southampton Central. The trains will call additionally at Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh. Hourly replacement buses will run between Eastleigh and Southampton Central. Some trains may be revised to terminate short at Westbury or Warminster.

Additionally on Sunday, trains to / from Brighton will be revised to start / terminate at Portsmouth Harbour. You can use alternative train services between Portsmouth Harbour and Brighton. 

South Western Railway

On Saturday:

  • Buses will replace trains between Eastleigh / Southampton Airport Parkway / Fareham and Southampton Central.  
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Poole will run between London Waterloo and Basingstoke only.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Weymouth will run between London Waterloo and Southampton Airport Parkway and then between Southampton Central and Weymouth. 
  • Trains between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier will run to revised timings.
  • Trains between Romsey and Salisbury (via Chandlers Ford) will run between Southampton Central and Salisbury only.

On Sunday: 

  • Buses will replace trains between Eastleigh and Romsey / Bournemouth / Poole and also between Southampton Central and Fareham / New Milton.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Poole will not run.
  • Trains which normally run between London Waterloo and Weymouth will run between London Waterloo and Southampton Airport Parkway and then between Bournemouth and Weymouth. 
  • Trains between Salisbury and Romsey (via Chandlers Ford) will call at Dean and Mottisfont & Dunbridge only. 
  • Trains between Southampton Central and Portsmouth & Southsea will not run.
  • Trains between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier will not run.

Southern

On Saturday and Sunday, no trains will run between Havant and Southampton Central. Customers should use South Western Railway services between Havant and Southampton Central to complete their journey.

On Sunday, buses will replace trains between Barnham and Havant.
