Description

Engineering work is taking place between Bristol Temple Meads and Lawrence Hill / Keynsham, closing all lines.

Sunday 27 December:

Replacement buses will run between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads.

Monday 28 December to Friday 8 January: 

Services are unaffected by engineering work.

Sunday 27 December:

Most trains between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads / Bath Spa / Westbury and Portsmouth Harbour / Brighton will be diverted between Patchway and Filton Abbey Wood to Bristol Parkway. Trains will also be further divert between Filton Abbey Wood and Bath Spa, NOT calling at Bristol Temple Meads.

Trains will depart Cardiff Central and Newport up to 15 minutes earlier than normal. Most trains will call additionally at Severn Tunnel Junction, some will call additionally at Patchway.

Bristol Temple Meads and Gloucester / Cheltenham Spa / Worcester Shrub Hill / Worcester Foregate Street.

These trains will start/terminate at Bristol Parkway (a few start/terminate Filton Abbey Wood) and not run to / from Bristol Temple Meads.

Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth

Trains will not run between Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth.

London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads

These trains will operate mostly hourly and will terminate / start at Bath Spa.

20:30 (departing 20:00) London Paddington to Weston-super-Mare will divert after Bath Spa to terminate Bristol Parkway. Additional trains are available between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare.

It will be necessary to depart Bristol Temple Meads earlier than normal to maintain connections with trains at Bath Spa.

Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach

Trains are replaced by buses throughout.

Rail replacement buses:

Buses will operate between:

  • Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa
  • Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway
  • Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach

Monday 28 December to Friday 1 January:

Services between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads will run to an amended timetable, with some trains at peak times not running at all.

Services between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach will run to an amended, hourly timetable.

Services between Weston-super-Mare and Filton Abbey Wood will be amended to run between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol Parkway.

Peak time services between Bristol Parkway and Westbury will not run.

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 January:

On Saturday, 08:30 London Paddington to Weston-super-Mare and 16:30 London Paddington to Taunton will terminate at Bristol Temple Meads. Other trains will be available from Bristol Temple Meads.

All weekend, some local trains will be retimed to run a few minutes earlier than usual, not run or terminate early.

Monday 4 to Friday 8 January:

04:53 Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington will not run.

Some local trains will be retimed by a few minutes.

Trains between Filton Abbey Wood and Weston-super-Mare will extend to run to / from Bristol Parkway.

During off-peak hours, one train per hour will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Severn Beach (to a revised timetable).
