Avanti West Coast are operating a reduced timetable in line with current passenger demand and government guidelines.

Latest timetable news:

Avanti West Coast are operating a reduced timetable until Monday 30 August. This will affect the Manchester and Birmingham routes, where services will be reduced to one train per hour. Services to and from North Wales will also change – with one train per day and a shuttle service between Holyhead and Crewe. The amended timetable for the coming weeks can be found here

If your train is cancelled or the time has changed, you will be able to use your ticket on the Avanti West Coast service before or after your original booking. Otherwise, you can claim a refund from your point of purchase if cancelled.

Avanti West Coast will continue to monitor the timetable and adjust if required, as guided by Government advice and passenger demand.

Advice on face coverings:

In line with government guidance, you are no longer required by law to wear a face covering. However please respect others and, unless exempt, wear a face covering in crowded spaces throughout your journey.

If you are travelling within Wales or Scotland, you must continue to wear a face covering (unless exempt) when you're at stations and whilst on board the train, as it remains mandatory.

If you are using TfL (Transport for London) services for any part of your journey, it remains mandatory to wear a face covering (unless exempt).

Seat reservations:

Following the government's announcement that restrictions will be easing in England on Monday 19 July, Avanti West Coast have increased the availability of seats on board. We recommend that you continue to book your tickets in advance and make a seat reservation to secure a place on your preferred train. Bookings can be made up to five minutes before departure on the Avanti West Coast website or app.

All advance tickets will come with a reservation. If you're booking a flexible ticket (off-peak or anytime), please request a reservation with it.

Check before you travel:

Timetables are correct in the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner up to and including Sunday 8 August.

If you are travelling from Monday 9 August until Sunday 29 August, please check back closer to the time of travel.

If you are travelling from Monday 30 August onwards, you can also use the Journey Planner as the timetable is correct from Monday 30 August onwards.
