Major service changes between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central
Due to major engineering work taking place over 6 consecutive days between 3 and 8 April, no Avanti West Coast trains will be able to run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central in either direction.
An amended Avanti West Coast service will operate between the following stations on Good Friday:
Milton Keynes Central and Glasgow Central
Milton Keynes Central and Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke-on-Trent
Milton Keynes Central and Liverpool Lime Street
Rugby and Preston / Edinburgh via Birmingham New Street
Crewe and Holyhead
Customers with a ticket to travel to or from central London can use the replacement bus service that will operate between Milton Keynes Central and Bedford. You can then use East Midlands Railway and Thameslink trains at no extra cost to travel between Bedford and London St Pancras International.
Saturday 4 April

Due to major engineering work, lines are closed in both directions between Preston and Oxenholme Lake District, and between Carlisle and Edinburgh / Glasgow Central via Lockerbie.
A once every 2 hour train service will run non-stop between Preston and Carlisle (diverted via the Settle and Carlisle line).
A replacement bus service will be provided between Carlisle and Motherwell, and you can use the TransPennine Express replacement buses between Carlisle and Edinburgh.

Due to major engineering work, lines are closed in both directions between Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western, between Preston and Oxenholme Lake District, and between Carlisle and Edinburgh / Glasgow Central via Lockerbie.
A once every 2 hour train service will run non-stop between Preston and Carlisle (diverted via the Settle and Carlisle line).
A replacement bus service will be provided between Carlisle and Glasgow Central, and you can use the TransPennine Express replacement buses between Carlisle and Edinburgh.
