Tuesday 23 December

Late evening changes between London Euston and Wolverhampton

Due to late night engineering work the following service changes will be made:

• 22:30 London Euston to Wolverhampton service will be diverted after Birmingham New Street, and will arrive at Wolverhampton around 15 minutes later than usual

• 23:00 London Euston to Wolverhampton service will be diverted after Birmingham New Street, and will arrive at Wolverhampton around 15 minutes later than usual

• 23:30 London Euston to Wolverhampton service will be diverted after Rugby, and will not call at Coventry, Birmingham International or Birmingham New Street. It will also arrive at Wolverhampton 38 minutes later than usual. For these stations, you should travel by earlier train services

Wednesday 24 December

Trains will finish earlier than normal

Avanti West Coast services will finish earlier than normal on Christmas Eve.

Thursday 25 December - Christmas Day

No service

There will be no Avanti West Coast services on Christmas Day.

Friday 26 December - Boxing Day

No service

There will be no Avanti West Coast services on Boxing Day.

Saturday 27 December

Line closed between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, there will be major service changes

Due to engineering work closing the lines in both directions between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and the Midlands / North / Scotland will be significantly disrupted:

• Two trains per hour will operate between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central

• Replacement buses will run between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton

• An amended train service will operate between Rugby / Northampton and the Midlands / North / Scotland

Sunday 28 December

Line closed between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, there will be major service changes

Due to engineering work closing the lines in both directions between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and the Midlands / North / Scotland will be significantly disrupted:

Thursday 1 January 2026 - New Year's Day

Line closed between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, there will be major service changes

Due to engineering work closing the lines in both directions between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and the Midlands / North / Scotland will be significantly disrupted:

• Two trains per hour will operate between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central

• Replacement buses will run between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton

• An amended train service will operate between Rugby / Northampton and the Midlands / North / Scotland

Buses replace trains between Wigan North Western and Preston

Due to engineering work closing lines at Preston, buses will replace trains between Wigan North Western and Preston. A limited train service will run non-stop between Wigan North Western and Carlisle via a diversionary route (Settle - Carlisle line).

Buses replace trains between Carlisle and Lockerbie

Due to engineering work, buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Lockerbie. A revised train service will operate between Lockerbie and Edinburgh / Glasgow Central.

Friday 2 January

Line closed between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, there will be major service changes

Due to engineering work closing the lines in both directions between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton, Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and the Midlands / North / Scotland will be significantly disrupted:

• Two trains per hour will operate between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central

• Replacement buses will run between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton

• An amended train service will operate between Rugby / Northampton and the Midlands / North / Scotland
