Saturday 2 May

Amended Avanti West Coast train service to and from London Euston

Due to engineering work reducing the number of available lines between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central, an hourly train service will operate between the following stations:

  • London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street

  • London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke and Macclesfield

  • London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly via Crewe and Wilmslow

  • London Euston and Glasgow Central via Tamworth and Rugeley Trent Valley

  • London Euston and Birmingham New Street

  • London Euston and Blackpool North / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh via Birmingham New Street

Services between London Euston and Holyhead will operate between Crewe and Holyhead only.

Sunday 3 May

Amended Avanti West Coast train service to and from London Euston

Due to engineering work reducing the number of available lines between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central, an hourly train service will operate between the following stations (unless stated otherwise):

  • London Euston and Crewe via Tamworth and Rugeley Trent Valley (see Liverpool Lime Street changes below)

  • London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke and Macclesfield (half-hourly)

  • London Euston and Glasgow Central via Tamworth / Crewe / Manchester / Bolton

  • London Euston and Warrington Bank Quay via Birmingham New Street

Buses will be running between Crewe, Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western.

Services between London Euston and Holyhead will operate between Crewe and Holyhead only.

Services between London Euston and Edinburgh will operate between Preston and Edinburgh only.

Amended Avanti West Coast service to and from Liverpool Lime Street

Due to engineering work in the Liverpool area, trains between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street will operate between London Euston and Crewe only. Rail replacement buses will operate between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

Changes to services at Motherwell

Due to engineering work in the Motherwell area, Avanti West Coast trains will not call at Motherwell. You should use alternative services between Motherwell and Glasgow Central.

Monday 4 May - Early May Bank Holiday

Amended Avanti West Coast train service to and from London Euston

Due to engineering work reducing the number of available lines between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central, an hourly train service will operate between the following stations:

  • London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street (replacement buses will be supplementing morning train services between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street)

  • London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke and Macclesfield

  • London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly via Crewe and Wilmslow

  • London Euston and Glasgow Central via Tamworth and Rugeley Trent Valley

  • London Euston and Blackpool North / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh via Birmingham New Street

Services between London Euston and Holyhead will operate between Crewe and Holyhead only.

Late night minor changes to trains between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central

Due to late night engineering work the following services will be diverted via Northampton, extending journey times:

  • 21:04 Crewe to London Euston

  • 22:15 Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston

Saturday 23 May

Normal service

No changes to Avanti West Coast services have been announced.

Sunday 24 May

Amended Avanti West Coast train service between London Euston and North West England / Scotland

Due to engineering work between Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western, Avanti West Coast will be making the following timetable changes to services between London Euston and North West England / Scotland (in both directions):

  • London Euston - Glasgow Central via Nuneaton trains will be diverted via Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton

  • London Euston - Glasgow Central via Birmingham New Street trains will run between London Euston and Crewe only

  • London Euston - Edinburgh trains will run between Preston and Edinburgh only

  • London Euston - Manchester Piccadilly services will be reduced to 2 trains per hour in each direction

Trains will not call at Warrington Bank Quay or Wigan North Western. Rail replacement buses will run between Crewe, Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western to connect with trains at Crewe.

For travel between Wigan North Western and Preston you can use alternative train services at no extra cost.

Monday 25 May - Late May Bank Holiday

Minor late evening service changes through the Rugby area

Due to late evening engineering work, after approximately 23:00 trains may be diverted to run via Northampton extending journey times.

Amended 05:35 Blackpool North to Crewe service

Due to engineering work, the 05:35 Blackpool North to Crewe service will start from Preston at 06:00. For travel between Blackpool North and Preston you should use alternative train services at no extra cost.

Amended 22:00 London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street service

Due to engineering work, the 22:00 London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street train will terminate at Crewe. A rail replacement bus will operate between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street, calling at Runcorn, departing at 00:25.
