Updated - Industrial Action:
Industrial action by the RMT union on Saturday 23 and Monday 25 August will impact CrossCountry services on both days. Additionally CrossCountry anticipate there will be cancellations on Sunday 24 August, with services that do run expected to be extremely busy.
Saturday 23 August:
There will be no CrossCountry services operating on Saturday 23 August. You are strongly advised not to travel, or to travel either side of the bank holiday weekend.
Sunday 24 August:
Although the industrial action is not taking place on this day, cancellations and alterations are still expected. Please check your entire journey before you travel.
Monday 25 August:
A very limited CrossCountry service will operate between 08:00 and 18:00 only. The trains that do run are expected to be busy.
There will also be no CrossCountry service between Birmingham New Street, Reading and the south coast, and no service between Leicester, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. There will only be a very limited service to the south west and north of York.
Additionally, planned engineering work in the West Midlands area will impact the CrossCountry services that do run, meaning some journeys will take longer.

The industrial action announcement means that the following service change information no longer applies (although the engineering work will still go ahead as planned).
Saturday 23 August
No service changes due to engineering work have been announced.
Sunday 24 August
Changes to journeys between Birmingham New Street and Derby / Leicester
Due to engineering work closing the lines between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway, and between Birmingham New Street and Tamworth, the following route changes will be made:
Birmingham New Street - Leicester - Stansted Airport: Trains will start and terminate at Coleshill Parkway. Rail replacement buses will operate between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway
Cardiff Central - Nottingham: Trains will operate between Cardiff Central and Birmingham New Street and between Coleshill Parkway and Nottingham. Rail replacement buses will operate between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway
Birmingham New Street - the North East and Scotland: Trains will divert via an alternative route not calling at Tamworth.
Journey times will be extended by one hour.
Change to journeys between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International
Due to engineering work closing the lines between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International, CrossCountry trains will run but will be diverted via an alternative route, extending journey times by up to 15 minutes.
Monday 25 August - Bank Holiday Monday
