Bank Holiday Information: East Midlands Railway

Early May Bank Holiday:

Saturday 4 May

Due to engineering work, services from Norwich / Nottingham towards Liverpool Lime Street may be retimed between Stockport and Liverpool Lime Street.

Sunday 5 May

Due to major engineering works between Luton and London St Pancras International, a reduced timetable will be operating to / from London St Pancras International.

Trains may depart from stations earlier than usual and arrive at their destinations later than usual.

East Midlands Railway will be running 1 train per hour on each route between:

  • Nottingham and London St Pancras International

  • Sheffield and London St Pancras International

  • Corby and London St Pancras International

  • An hourly shuttle service will operate between Kettering and Corby.

Due to engineering work, train services between Norwich / Nottingham and Liverpool Lime Street will run as normal to Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Oxford Road. After this they will be diverted, running directly to Liverpool Lime Street.

The diverted trains will call additionally at Newton-le-Willows. In order to provide connections to / from missed out stations, buses will run between Newton-le-Willows and Widnes, calling at Warrington Central. If you are travelling to / from Liverpool South Parkway you should use alternative operators replacement buses.

Monday 6 May - Early May Bank Holiday

Due to engineering work, train services between Norwich / Nottingham and Liverpool Lime Street will run as normal to Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Oxford Road. After this they will be diverted, running directly to Liverpool Lime Street.

The diverted trains will call additionally at Newton-le-Willows. In order to provide connections to / from missed out stations, buses will run between Newton-le-Willows and Widnes, calling at Warrington Central. If you are travelling to / from Liverpool South Parkway you should use alternative operators replacement buses.

Due to late night engineering work, the following service changes will be made:

22:52 Leicester to Nottingham service will depart later at 22:59 and will not call at Syston or Sileby. It will continue as usual between Loughborough and Nottingham. A rail replacement bus will serve Syston and Sileby.
23:59 Mansfield Woodhouse to Nottingham service will run as usual but will arrive at Nottingham slightly earlier at 00:30.
22:47 London St Pancras International to Corby train will run as scheduled but terminate at Kettering instead of Corby.
23:54 London St Pancras International to Corby train will run as scheduled but terminate at Kettering instead of Corby.
23:05 London St Pancras International to Derby train will depart as scheduled from London St Pancras but will run earlier than scheduled from Kettering, terminating at Derby earlier than scheduled at 01:25. 23:35 London St Pancras International to Nottingham train will depart as scheduled from London St Pancras but will run earlier than scheduled from Leicester, terminating at Nottingham earlier than scheduled at 01:46.
22:32 London St Pancras International to Sheffield will depart as scheduled from London St Pancras but will run later than scheduled from Chesterfield.
20:49 Doncaster to Peterborough service will terminate at Sleaford. A rail replacement bus service will run between Sleaford and Peterborough.
23:11 Peterborough to Lincoln will not run and will be replaced by a bus.

Late May Bank Holiday:

Saturday 25 May

No changes to train services have been announced.

Sunday 26 May

Due to early morning engineering work between Derby and Nottingham, the following changes will be made:

  • 07:24 Nottingham to London St Pancras International service will be replaced by a bus between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway

  • 08:18 Derby to Nottingham service will be replaced by a bus

  • 08:21 Nottingham to London St Pancras International service will be replaced by a bus between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway

  • 08:25 Nottingham to Derby service will be replaced by a bus.

Monday 27 May - Late May Bank Holiday

Due to late night engineering work, the following changes will be made:

  • 23:05 London St Pancras International to Derby service will not call at Long Eaton. A bus will run from East Midlands Parkway to Derby via Long Eaton to provide a connection.

  • 23:35 London St Pancras International to Nottingham service will terminate at East Midlands Parkway. A replacement bus will run between East Midlands Parkway and Nottingham via Beeston.
