Great Western Railway services will be finishing earlier than normal on Christmas Eve, completing their journeys by 21:30. Please check that you can complete your entire journey before you travel.
Buses will replace trains between Reigate and Gatwick Airport
Due to engineering work, buses will replace trains between Reigate and Redhill (provided by Great Western Railway and Southern), and between Reigate and Gatwick Airport (provided by Great Western Railway).
Amended 20:48 London Paddington to Swansea service
Due to late night engineering work between Cardiff Central and Bridgend, the 20:48 London Paddington to Swansea service will terminate at Cardiff Central. No onward travel will be provided between Cardiff Central and Swansea.
Friday 25 December - Christmas Day

Significantly amended service to and from London Paddington
Due to major engineering work between Slough and London Paddington, the following service changes will be made;
Long distance trains: No long distance trains will run between Reading and London Paddington.
Trains that usually run between Carmarthen / Swansea / Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington will divert to run via Oxford and Milton Keynes Central (not calling at either) and run to and from London Euston instead of to and from London Paddington.
Trains that usually run between Penzance / Plymouth / Hereford / Great Malvern / Worcester / Swindon and London Paddington will be amended to terminate at, and start back from Reading instead of London Paddington.
Local trains: No Great Western Railway trains will run between Slough and London Paddington.
An amended train service will run between Reading and Slough. Replacement buses will run between Slough and Ealing Broadway, to connect with London Underground services to and from central London.

A replacement bus will depart at 23:05 from Barnstaple to Umberleigh, Eggesford, Morchard Road, Copplestone, Crediton, Newton St Cyres and Exeter St Davids arriving at 00:43. Also taxis will depart at 23:59 from Yeoford to Crediton, and at 00:23 from Crediton to Yeoford.
Changes to early morning services in the Frome / Westbury area
Due to early morning engineering work the following changes will be made:

08:19 Reading to Penzance will divert between Reading and Westbury (via Swindon – not calling). It will not call at Newbury and Pewsey, if you are travelling to Newbury or Pewsey, you should travel on the train below
08:33 Reading to Bedwyn will start from Newbury at 09:02
08:37 Reading to Basingstoke will not run and will be replaced by an earlier replacement bus departing at 08:07 from Reading, calling at Reading Green Park, Mortimer, Bramley and arriving Basingstoke at 09:17. Reading West customers to use Reading - Newbury services

Due to early morning engineering work between Bridgend and Cardiff Central, the 07:55 Swansea to London Euston service (diverted from London Paddington) will also divert between Bridgend and Cardiff Central (via Ninian Park – not calling). It will depart Cardiff Central 08:58 and Newport 09:14. (a few minutes later than normal).
Monday 4 January
Amended very early morning service to and from London Paddington
Due to the conclusion of the major engineering work that took place between Slough and London Paddington over the festive period, the following very early Monday morning service changes will be made:
00:36, 01:35 and 03:36 London Paddington to Reading services will start from Maidenhead
00:35 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington service will terminate at Maidenhead
02:24 Reading to London Paddington service will terminate at Maidenhead
Subsequent Monday morning trains are expected to run normally to and from London Paddington.
Changes to late night services to and from Bedwyn
Due to late night engineering work between Newbury and Bedwyn, the following service changes will be made:

Due to late night engineering work between Stonehouse and Gloucester, the 23:42 Swindon to Cheltenham Spa train will depart earlier than normal at 23:17 and will divert between Swindon and Gloucester (via Bath Spa and Severn Tunnel Junction – not calling at either). It will not call at Kemble, Stroud or Stonehouse and will terminate at Gloucester at 01:03.
A replacement bus will depart at 23:45 from Swindon, calling at Kemble, Stroud, Stonehouse High Street / Bath Road, Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa.
