Thursday 24 December - Christmas Eve
Major changes to services through Doncaster
Due to engineering work closing the lines between Retford and York, there will be no LNER train services between Retford and Leeds or Retford and York. There will be no LNER train services to or from Doncaster.
Advice for customers travelling to / from Doncaster
Rail replacement coaches will operate between Doncaster and Retford to connect with LNER train services to the South, and between Doncaster and York to connect with LNER train services to the North
Rail replacement coaches will also operate between Doncaster, Wakefield Westgate and Leeds
Advice for customers travelling to / from Wakefield Westgate and Leeds
Rail replacement coaches will operate between Leeds, Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster
Customers travelling to / from stations south of Doncaster can use other operators’ services to / from Retford (via Sheffield) to connect with LNER train services
Advice for customers travelling to York, the North East and Scotland
Rail replacement coaches will operate between Newark Northgate and York to connect with LNER train services to / from the North.
Other LNER routes
There will be no LNER train services to Harrogate, Bradford Forster Square, Skipton, Hull or Middlesbrough.

Last services of the day will be significantly earlier than usual. Please check your full journey before you travel.
12:00 London Kings Cross to Inverness
The 12:00 London Kings Cross to Inverness service will only operate between York (departing 14:06) and Perth, with a non-stop rail replacement coach from Perth to Inverness.
Friday 25 December - Christmas Day
No service
No trains will operate on Christmas Day.
Saturday 26 December
No service
No LNER trains will operate on Saturday 26 December.
Sunday 27 December
Small number of service changes on Sunday morning
The following service changes will be made:
07:58 York to London Kings Cross will not run
An additional service from Leeds to London Kings Cross will run, departing Leeds at 08:04
09:47 Inverness to London Kings Cross will start at Perth at 12:01. A rail replacement coach service will run non-stop between Inverness and Perth. Customers travelling from other impacted stations are advised to use other operators' services
Monday 28 December - Boxing Day (substitute day)
Changes to late night trains between Newcastle and Edinburgh
Due to late night engineering work, the 20:03 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service will be amended to terminate at Newcastle.
For travel between Newcastle and Edinburgh, you can travel on the earlier 19:33 London Kings Cross to Newcastle service, which will be amended to run through to Edinburgh. This train will depart Newcastle at 22:41.
Tuesday 29 December
Changes to late night trains between Newcastle and Edinburgh
Due to late night engineering work, the 20:03 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service will be amended to terminate at Newcastle.
For travel between Newcastle and Edinburgh, you can travel on the earlier 19:33 London Kings Cross to Newcastle service, which will be amended to run through to Edinburgh. This train will depart Newcastle at 22:41.

Thursday 31 December - New Year's Eve
There will be some timetable changes and an early finish
There will be changes to the LNER timetable on New Year's Eve, some services will be cancelled, some will terminate at different stations than usual and some will have amended calling patterns.
The last services of the day will be earlier than they usually are on weekdays.
Last northbound services from London Kings Cross to key locations
17:30 to Edinburgh
20:03 to Newcastle, this is also the last service to York
20:40 to Leeds
Last southbound services to London Kings Cross from key locations
18:30 from Edinburgh, this is also the last service from Newcastle (20:04) and York (21:04) to London Kings Cross
17:37 from Bradford Forster Square, this is also the last service from Leeds (18:10) to London Kings Cross
12.03 from London Kings Cross to Inverness will terminate at Perth
A rail replacement coach service will run non-stop between Perth and Inverness
Customers travelling from / to Pitlochry, Kingussie and Aviemore are advised to use other operators’ services
Friday 1 January 2027 - New Year's Day
Amended LNER service on New Year's Day
There will be changes to the LNER timetable. Some services will be cancelled, some will start at different stations than usual and some will have amended calling patterns.
The first services of the day will be later than they usually are on weekdays.
As usual, there will be no LNER services running north of Edinburgh.
