Saturday 29 August

After 22:00: significantly amended service between Peterborough and London

Due to major engineering work starting after approximately 22:00 south of Peterborough, no LNER trains will be able to run between Peterborough and London Kings Cross in either direction after 22:00.

The following trains will start / terminate at other stations:

  • 14:52 Aberdeen to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 19:00 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross will terminate at Doncaster

  • 19:27 Newcastle to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 20:10 Leeds to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 21:40 London Kings Cross to Leeds will start at Peterborough

The following trains will be cancelled:

  • 16:13 London Kings Cross to Lincoln

  • 18:39 London Kings Cross to Leeds

  • 18.33 Harrogate to London Kings Cross

Sunday 30 August

Significantly amended service between Peterborough and London

Due to major engineering work all day south of Peterborough, no LNER trains will run between Peterborough and London Kings Cross in either direction.

A revised LNER timetable will operate, with trains from Scotland, the north of England and the Midlands terminating at, and starting back from Peterborough. A bus service will run in both directions between Peterborough and Bedford, for alternative train company connections into / out of London St Pancras International.

There will be no LNER services to or from Lincoln, Skipton or Hull, and there will be a reduced service on some other routes.

Impacted journeys will take significantly longer than usual.

Please note: If you are planning a journey between the North and London on LNER services, we strongly advise you to use LNER services to and from Peterborough and apply a search filter to specify travel via Peterborough. This will give you journeys including the connecting bus to / from Bedford. Please avoid travelling via Sheffield, Derby or Chesterfield if possible due to extremely high customer numbers on this route.

Monday 31 August - August Bank Holiday

Until 08:00: significantly amended service between Peterborough and London

Due to major engineering work until 08:00 south of Peterborough, no LNER trains will be able to run between Peterborough and London Kings Cross in either direction.

Train services at London Kings Cross will start to run again from 08:00 onwards.

The following trains will start / terminate at different stations than usual:

  • 04:35 Newcastle to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 04:40 York to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 05:27 Newcastle to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 05:30 Leeds to London Kings Cross will start at Doncaster and terminate at Peterborough

  • 05:30 Doncaster to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 06:05 Leeds to London Kings Cross will terminate at Peterborough

  • 08:33 Harrogate to London Kings Cross will start at Doncaster

  • 05:40 London Kings Cross to Leeds will start at Peterborough

  • 05:48 London Kings Cross to Aberdeen will start at Peterborough

  • 06:40 London Kings Cross to Harrogate will start at Peterborough

  • 07:03 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh will start at Peterborough

  • 07:30 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh will start at Peterborough

  • 07:33 London Kings Cross to Newcastle will now start at Peterborough

The following trains will be cancelled:

  • 05:20 Doncaster to Edinburgh

  • 06:27 Newcastle to London Kings Cross

  • 06:35 Harrogate to London Kings Cross

  • 07:35 Middlesbrough to London Kings Cross

  • 09:20 Lincoln to London Kings Cross

  • 06:00 London Kings Cross to Leeds

  • 06:45 London Kings Cross to Lincoln
