Bank Holiday Information: Thameslink

Early May Bank Holiday:

Saturday 4 May

Due to engineering work in the Cambridge area, buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge / Cambridge North.

Due to late night engineering work between Luton and Bedford, after 23:59 buses will replace trains between these stations.

Sunday 5 May

Due to engineering work in the Cambridge area, buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge / Cambridge North.

Due to engineering work between London Blackfriars and Sutton / Wimbledon, no Thameslink trains will run between these stations. You can use Southern trains, London Buses / London Trams / London Underground to complete your journey.

Due to engineering work in the London Blackfriars area, Thameslink services between London Blackfriars and Sevenoaks will be amended to run between London Victoria and Sevenoaks instead. You can use London Underground services between London Blackfriars and London Victoria.

Due to engineering work in the Rainham area, no Thameslink trains will run between Gravesend and Rainham. You can use Southeastern replacement buses between Gravesend and Rainham

Due to early morning engineering work between Luton and Bedford, until 08:05 buses will replace trains between these stations.

Due to early morning engineering work between Alexandra Palace and Welwyn Garden City, until 07:15 buses will replace trains between these stations.

Due to early morning and late night engineering work between Haywards Heath and Brighton, until 08:15 and after 23:35 buses will replace trains between these stations.

Monday 6 May - Early May Bank Holiday

A Saturday service will operate on Bank Holiday Monday, subject to the following engineering work.

Due to engineering work in the Cambridge area, buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge / Cambridge North.

Due to early morning engineering work between Haywards Heath and Brighton, until 05:00 buses will replace trains between these stations.

Due to late night engineering work between Stevenage and Cambridge, after 23:55 buses will replace trains between these stations.

Late May Bank Holiday:

Saturday 25 May

Due to engineering work between Gravesend and Higham, no Thameslink trains will run between Gravesend and Strood. Trains will run between Strood and Gillingham / Rainham and a reduced train service will run between London and Gravesend. You can use Southeastern replacement buses between Gravesend and Strood.

Due to engineering work between Brixton and Nunhead / Ravensbourne, Thameslink trains to / from Sevenoaks and Orpington will run to an amended timetable, and will be diverted to run via Herne Hill, Kent House and Beckenham Junction (calling at all these stations). Replacement buses will run between Herne Hill and Bromley South, calling at all stations via Catford except Nunhead and Ravensbourne. These buses will also call at Beckenham Junction. For Nunhead, you can use London Bus route P12 and for Ravensbourne, you can use London Bus route 354.

Sunday 26 May

Due to engineering work between Gravesend and Higham, no Thameslink trains will run between Gravesend and Strood. Trains will run between Strood and Gillingham / Rainham and a reduced train service will run between London and Gravesend. You can use Southeastern replacement buses between Gravesend and Strood.

Due to engineering work between London and Plumstead, no Thameslink trains will run between London and Plumstead. Thameslink tickets will be accepted on Southeastern trains between London Cannon Street and Plumstead. Paper tickets will also be accepted on the Elizabeth line between Farringdon and Abbey Wood.

Due to engineering work between Brixton and Nunhead / Ravensbourne, Thameslink trains to / from Sevenoaks and Orpington will run to an amended timetable, and will be diverted to run via Herne Hill, Kent House and Beckenham Junction (calling at all these stations). Replacement buses will run between Herne Hill and Bromley South, calling at all stations via Catford except Nunhead and Ravensbourne. These buses will also call at Beckenham Junction. For Nunhead, you can use London Bus route P12 and for Ravensbourne, you can use London Bus route 354.

Due to engineering work in the London Bridge area, the following changes will be made:

  • Thameslink trains between Cambridge / Peterborough / Bedford and Three Bridges / Horsham / Brighton will be diverted, not calling at London Bridge and running to an amended timetable.

  • Thameslink trains to / from Sutton will run via Wimbledon only. No trains will call at Mitcham Eastfields, Mitcham Junction, Hackbridge or Carshalton. For these stations, please use Southern services instead.

Due to early morning engineering work between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park the following changes will be made:

  • 01:40 London Kings Cross to Welwyn Garden City service will not run. A replacement bus will run between Finsbury Park and Welwyn Garden City.

  • Before 06:00, no trains will run between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park. A few trains will start from Hornsey station instead of Finsbury Park / London Kings Cross. Paper tickets can be used on London Buses between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park.

  • Before 09:30, buses will replace trains between Finsbury Park / Potters Bar and Letchworth Garden City and Peterborough. Also between Hertford North and Stevenage / Letchworth Garden City.

  • 06:40 and 07:00 Cambridge to London Kings Cross services will not run, and will be replaced by buses between Cambridge and Potters Bar.

Due to early morning engineering work in the Redhill area, until 06:00 trains that usually run via Redhill will be diverted to run on alternative routes.

Monday 27 May - Late May Bank Holiday

A Saturday service will operate on Bank Holiday Monday, subject to the following engineering work.

Due to engineering work between Gravesend and Higham, no Thameslink trains will run between Gravesend and Strood.
