Amended service through Huddersfield

Due to engineering work closing the line between Huddersfield and Dewsbury, no direct trains will run between Manchester and Leeds via Huddersfield. The following service will operate in both directions:

Trains will run between:

• Liverpool Lime Street - Huddersfield (via Stalybridge)

• Manchester Airport - Huddersfield (via Stalybridge)

• Manchester Victoria - Huddersfield (via Hebden Bridge)

• Wakefield Kirkgate - York (via Castleford)

• York - Scarborough

• Dewsbury - Hull

• Dewsbury - Redcar Central

• Leeds - Newcastle

Replacement buses will run:

• Huddersfield - Dewsbury

• Huddersfield - Wakefield Kirkgate (via Deighton, Mirfield, Dewsbury)

Wednesday 24 December

Trains will finish earlier than normal

TransPennine Express services will finish earlier than normal on Christmas Eve.

On all routes, no trains will run from late evening onwards, and afternoon / evening trains may be amended to terminate earlier in their journey.

This particularly applies as late evening engineering work will take place between York, Northallerton and Darlington - please travel earlier in the day.

Thursday 25 December - Christmas Day

No service

There will be no TransPennine Express services on Christmas Day.

Friday 26 December - Boxing Day

No service

There will be no TransPennine Express services on Boxing Day.

Saturday 27 December

Amended service between Leeds and York, and between Leeds and Selby

Due to Transpennine Route Upgrade engineering works between Leeds and York / Selby, TransPennine Express services will divert and run to amended timetables as follows:

Trains will run between:

• Liverpool Lime Street - Leeds (additionally calling at Newton-le-Willows)

• Manchester Victoria - Leeds

• Manchester Airport - Leeds

• Manchester Piccadilly - Wakefield Kirkgate

• Selby - Hull

• York - Scarborough

Amended service between Manchester / Liverpool and Scotland

Due to significant engineering work in the Preston area, and on the West Coast Main Line, the TransPennine Express Anglo-Scottish services will be extensively revised.

No trains will run on the route between Liverpool Lime Street and Glasgow Central.

The following service will operate between Manchester and Scotland (to be confirmed):

• Trains will run between Manchester Airport and Buckshaw Parkway only

• Replacement buses will run between Buckshaw Parkway and Preston

• Replacement buses will run between Preston and Carlisle

• Replacement buses will run between Carlisle and Glasgow Central

• Replacement buses will run between Carlisle and Edinburgh
