Early May Bank Holiday:

Saturday 4 May

No changes to train services have been announced.

Sunday 5 May

Engineering work is taking place between Chester and Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester Piccadilly, closing various lines. As a result of this, buses will replace trains between on the following routes:

  • between Manchester Airport / Manchester Piccadilly and Chester

  • between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester

Late evening engineering work is taking place between Shrewsbury and Crewe. As a result of this, the following late night trains will be amended:

  • The 20:30 Manchester Piccadilly to Cardiff Central service will be diverted to run via Wrexham General. A replacement bus will run between Crewe and Shrewsbury

  • The 21:07 Cardiff Central to Chester service will be diverted to run via Wrexham General. A replacement bus will run from Shrewsbury to Chester via Crewe

  • The 21:45 Crewe to Shrewsbury service will be replaced by a bus

Monday 6 May - Early May Bank Holiday

Engineering work is taking place between Chester and Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester Piccadilly, closing various lines. Buses will replace trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester.

Due to late night engineering work taking place between Bridgend and Swansea, the 23:15 Cardiff Central to Carmarthen service will be replaced by a bus throughout.

Late May Bank Holiday:

Saturday 25 May

Due to engineering work between Shrewsbury and Nantwich, buses will replace trains between Shrewsbury and Crewe.

Due to engineering work:

  • Buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Rhymney

  • No trains will run between Cardiff Queen Street and Coryton. You may use your ticket on Cardiff Bus services between Radyr and Coryton to complete your journey

  • Buses will replace trains between Treherbert and Pontypridd

  • Until 12:30, buses will replace trains between Pontypridd and Merthyr Tydfil / Aberdare.

Sunday 26 May

Due to engineering work between Shrewsbury and Nantwich, buses will replace trains between Shrewsbury and Crewe.

Due to morning engineering work, until 12:30 buses will operate between Cardiff Central and Penarth / Barry Island / Bridgend.

Due to engineering work:

  • Buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Rhymney

  • No trains will run between Cardiff Queen Street and Coryton. You may use your ticket on Cardiff Bus services between Radyr and Coryton to complete your journey

  • Buses will replace trains between Treherbert and Pontypridd.

Monday 27 May - Late May Bank Holiday

Due to engineering work between Shrewsbury and Nantwich, buses will replace trains between Shrewsbury and Crewe.

Due to engineering work:

  • No trains will run between Cardiff Queen Street and Coryton. You may use your ticket on Cardiff Bus services between Radyr and Coryton to complete your journey

  • Buses will replace trains between Treherbert and Pontypridd.

Due to late night engineering work, the following changes will be made:

  • After 23:00 buses will replace trains between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth

  • After 23:15 buses will replace trains between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Airport

  • 22:43 Llandovery to Swansea service will terminate at Llanelli. A replacement bus will operate from Llanelli to Swansea

  • 23:15 Cardiff Central to Carmarthen service will not call at Swansea. A bus will operate from Neath calling at all stations to Carmarthen.
