Normal service

No changes to West Midlands Railwayo services have been announced.

Wednesday 24 December

Trains will finish earlier than normal on Christmas Eve

West Midlands Railway services will finish earlier than normal on Christmas Eve.

After 19:00, West Midlands Railway services will operate to an amended timetable at a reduced frequency, and will close down earlier than normal.

Thursday 25 December - Christmas Day

No service

There will be no West Midlands Railway services on Christmas Day.

Friday 26 December - Boxing Day

No service

There will be no West Midlands Railway services on Boxing Day.

Saturday 27 December

Details of any engineering work and / or service changes will be published here when announced.

Sunday 28 December

Amended service to and from Worcester until 16:00

Until 16:00, due to engineering work there will be changes to services to and from Worcester Foregate Street / Worcester Shrub Hill:

  • Hereford - Birmingham New Street: Trains will run between Hereford and Worcester Foregate Street / Worcester Shrub Hill only

  • Worcester Foregate Street - Birmingham New Street: Trains will not run

  • Worcester Foregate Street / Worcester Shrub Hill - Dorridge / Whitlocks End / Stratford-upon-Avon: Trains will run between Kidderminster and Dorridge / Whitlocks End / Stratford-upon-Avon only

Rail replacement buses will operate between Worcester Shrub Hill / Worcester Foregate Street and Kidderminster / Bromsgrove.

Passengers travelling to / from Bromsgrove, University or Birmingham New Street are advised to travel on Cross City train services between Bromsgrove and Birmingham New Street.

In addition to the above changes, the 15:44 Worcester Shrub Hill to Birmingham Moor Street and 17:02 Birmingham Moor Street to Worcester Shrub Hill services will not run.

Wednesday 31 December

Amended late night services between Lichfield Trent Valley / Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street

After 22:00, due to overnight engineering work in the Duddeston area, the following service changes will be made:

Lichfield Trent Valley / Four Oaks - Longbridge / Redditch / Bromsgrove: Trains will run between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge / Redditch / Bromsgrove only. Rail replacement buses will operate between Lichfield Trent Valley / Four Oaks and Birmingham New Street.

Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley - Wolverhampton / Birmingham International / Birmingham New Street: Trains will run to a slightly amended timetable between Birmingham New Street and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley and will not call at Duddeston, Aston, Witton and Perry Barr. Rail replacement buses will operate between Birmingham New Street and Tame Bridge Parkway, calling at Duddeston, Aston, Witton, Perry Barr and Hamstead.

Thursday 1 January 2026 - New Year's Day

Bank Holiday service changes on New Year's Day

  • Birmingham New Street - Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley: Trains will start up later than normal

  • Hereford - Birmingham New Street: Special timetable based on Sunday service frequency

  • Leamington Spa - Coventry - Nuneaton: Trains will start up later than normal

  • Lichfield Trent Valley / Four Oaks - Birmingham New Street - Redditch / Bromsgrove: Trains will start up later than normal

  • Shrewsbury - Birmingham New Street: Special timetable based on Sunday service frequency

  • Stourbridge Junction - Stourbridge Town: Trains will start up later than normal

  • Wolverhampton - Birmingham New Street: Trains will run at a reduced level of frequency and will start up later than normal

  • Worcester Foregate Street / Kidderminster - Dorridge / Leamington Spa / Whitlocks End / Stratford-upon-Avon: Trains will run at a reduced level of frequency and will start up later than normal

Amended early morning services between Lichfield Trent Valley / Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street

Before 10:00, due to overnight engineering work in the Duddeston area, the following service changes will be made:

Lichfield Trent Valley / Four Oaks - Longbridge / Redditch / Bromsgrove: Trains will run between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge / Redditch / Bromsgrove only. Rail replacement buses will operate between Lichfield Trent Valley / Four Oaks and Birmingham New Street.
