Description

Engineering work is taking place between Purley / Gomshall and Gatwick Airport, closing all lines.

Gatwick Express:

No Gatwick Express trains will run. You should use alternative Southern services at no extra cost, this will lead to extended journey times.

Great Western Railway:

Buses will replace trains between Guildford and Gatwick Airport. A mixture of fast and stopping buses will run.

Please note:

  • Buses will call at Dorking station instead of Dorking (Deepdene). These stations are just a short distance apart

  • At both Reigate and Redhill, buses towards Gatwick Airport will call to drop off only, and buses from Gatwick Airport will call to pick up only

Southern:

All day on Saturday and Sunday, no trains will run between Purley (Saturday) / East Croydon (Sunday) and Redhill / Gatwick Airport / Tonbridge.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • East Grinstead and Gatwick Airport / Three Bridges

  • East Croydon and Redhill

  • Redhill and Reigate / Tonbridge / Gatwick Airport

A direct, but diverted, Southern train service will run, with extended journey times, between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport, calling at Clapham Junction only.

Trains will run between

  • London Bridge and East Grinstead to an amended timetable, connecting with direct buses to and from Gatwick Airport / Three Bridges

  • Gatwick Airport and Bognor Regis / Portsmouth Harbour

  • Three Bridges and Littlehampton

  • Three Bridges and Eastbourne / Hastings / Ore

A reduced number of trains will run between London Victoria and East Croydon. No direct trains will run between London Victoria and Reigate.

You can use Thameslink trains to travel between Gatwick Airport and Brighton at no extra cost.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • East Grinstead and Gatwick Airport (frequent)

  • East Grinstead and Three Bridges (frequent)

  • East Croydon and Redhill (limited)

  • Redhill and Gatwick Airport (limited)

  • Redhill and Tonbridge

  • Redhill and Reigate

  • East Croydon and Tattenham Corner (Sunday only)

On Saturday, no Southern trains will run between London Bridge and Beckenham Junction. On Saturday, trains that usually run between London Victoria and Horsham will only run between London Victoria and Dorking. Replacement buses will run between Dorking and Horsham.

No Southern trains will run between London Bridge and Crystal Palace via Sydenham. Trains will run between London Victoria and Crystal Palace / West Croydon.

Clapham Junction - Watford Junction:

No Southern trains will run between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction.

You can use alternative London Overground trains or Southern trains between Clapham Junction and London Victoria, then London Underground between London Victoria and London Euston, and London Northwestern Railway or London Overground trains between London Euston and Watford Junction.

Ticket acceptance:

Southern paper tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on the following alternatives:

London Underground:

  • Vauxhall - Victoria- Euston (Victoria line)

  • Victoria - Shepherds Bush (Circle / Central line)

  • Victoria - West Brompton (District line)

  • Oxford Circus - Harrow & Wealdstone (Bakerloo line)

  • Euston - Waterloo (Northern line)

Elizabeth Line:

  • Whitechapel - Farringdon

London Overground:

  • Euston - Watford Junction

  • Crystal Palace - Whitechapel

  • Clapham Junction - Willesden Junction

National Rail:

  • London North Western Railway: London Euston - Watford Junction

  • South Western Railway: London Waterloo - Vauxhall - Clapham Junction

  • South Western Railway: Portsmouth - London Waterloo

  • Southeastern: Hastings - London

London Buses:

  • 407: East Croydon - Caterham

  • 434: East Croydon - Caterham

  • 439: East Croydon - Caterham

  • 21: New Cross Gate - London Bridge

  • 343: New Cross Gate - London Bridge

Thameslink:

No Thameslink trains will run between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.

Rail replacement buses will operate between:

  • East Grinstead and Gatwick Airport

  • East Grinstead and Three Bridges

  • Purley and Gatwick Airport via Redhill (Saturday only)

  • East Croydon and Gatwick Airport via Redhill (Sunday only)

A revised train service will run between:

  • London Kings Cross and Peterborough / Cambridge diverting non-stop via Hertford North

  • Bedford and East Croydon

  • Gatwick Airport / Three Bridges and Brighton

  • Gatwick Airport and Horsham via Three Bridges (Sunday only)

Ticket acceptance:

You can use your ticket on the following Southern services:

  • East Croydon and East Grinstead

  • Gatwick Airport and Bognor Regis via Horsham (Saturday only)
