Description

A fault with the signalling system in the Basingstoke area means that the line is blocked. As a result, trains running to / from and through this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 35 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost

Any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

You may use your ticket on Reading Buses on the following routes at no extra cost:

  • Buzz 9 between Reading (Station Road) and Reading Green Park (Station)

  • Greenwave 50 and 50A between Reading (Station Road) and Reading Green Park (Longwater Avenue)

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.

South Western Railway customer advice:

Engineers are now on site to rectify the fault, whilst they do this trains towards Basingstoke from London are unable to stop at Hook.

Passengers travelling to Hook from Woking / London should continue to Basingstoke and change for a train to Hook.

Passengers travelling towards Basingstoke from Hook should use local buses services listed below.
