Description
Lines have reopened following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Cambridge and Royston. Trains between Cambridge and Hitchin may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
Congestion on some lines to / from Cambridge is disrupting services between Cambridge and Audley End. Trains between Cambridge and Audley End may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
Major disruption is expected until 16:00.

Great Northern and Thameslink customer advice:
Trains are now able to run again between Royston and Cambridge following this incident. You may still be required to use an alternative route or change trains partway through your journey.
Services will experience delays, alterations and cancellations whilst recover the service timetable. You should allow at least 60 minutes of extra time for your journey.
Once confirmed, reinstated services calling at Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton are being advertised in journey planners.
Disruption is expected to continue into the afternoon, so for journeys from Cambridge towards London we would recommend using Greater Anglia services down to London Liverpool Street. From here you can use London Underground and Elizabeth line services towards your destination.
For journeys from London towards Cambridge we'd recommend doing this in reverse, using Greater Anglia services from London Liverpool Street to Cambridge. Thameslink and Great Northern services from will start to run north towards Cambridge, however cancellations are expected to continue through the afternoon.
You can also use Greater Anglia, East Midlands Railway and CrossCountry services between Cambridge, Ely and Peterborough, changing at Peterborough to alternative Thameslink services towards your destination.
There will be changes to how services are running, including the following:
Thameslink services between Brighton and Cambridge have been suspended until further notice
Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Kings Lynn will run between Cambridge and Kings Lynn only
Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Letchworth Garden City will start / terminate at Letchworth
Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Cambridge will start / terminated at Royston
Further ad-hoc alterations to your service are possible meaning your train may not stop at some advertised stations, or will be started / terminated at a different station than planned.
Please make sure to check your train before arriving at the station and allow plenty of extra time for your journey.
Replacement buses:
Replacement buses have been confirmed. These will not run to a timetable so please speak to station staff for further information.
Please note capacity on buses is limited and journey times will be extended, so you should allow at least 60 minutes of extra time for your journey.
