Description

Lines have reopened following a points failure at Dorking (Main). Trains between Dorking and Leatherhead / Epsom may still be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 11:00.

South Western Railway customer advice

The following alterations will apply:

  • London Waterloo to Dorking services will terminate at Leatherhead

  • Dorking to London Waterloo services will start from Leatherhead


Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost on the following:

  • London Buses routes:

    • 465

    • between Epsom and Dorking in both directions

  • Southern services between Clapham Junction and Epsom

Southern customer advice

The fault has been fixed and all lines are now open between Epsom and Dorking. Southern are working to reintroduce the service but this disruption has displaced drivers and trains. Please check station screens and planners for the latest information, and allow an extra 30 minutes to travel as you may have to use alternative transport.

The first trains to run on their full route will be the following:

  • 09:41 London Victoria to Horsham - this will be the first train to run through Epsom, continuing to Dorking and Horsham, forming

  • 11:14 Horsham to London Victoria

Your ticket will be accepted on the following, at no extra cost:

  • Alternative Southern services between Horsham and London Victoria, via Three Bridges and East Croydon

  • Great Western Railway services between Gatwick Airport and Dorking Deepdene (15 minutes from Dorking)

  • London Buses between Dorking and Sutton

  • London Trams between Sutton and East Croydon

  • Metrobus route 93 between Horsham and Dorking

A points failure was blocking all trains on this route. Network Rail specialist teams have been on site and resolved the issue. Southern are working to return to normal service as soon as possible.

Network Rail is sending specialist teams to investigate as a priority. Once on-site, they'll diagnose the issue and look for a quick fix. Some repairs may take longer if replacement parts or expert advice are needed.
